Finally, working at a retail store has made me reach my breaking point. I’ve dealt with customers and their demands and lack of gratitude. I can handle immature managers that gossip more than the employees and make good use of double standards. A product called Silly Bandz has made me draw the line. The world has literally gone mad. Children are bossing their parents around making them check every store to see if these rubber bands are in stock. That’s the craziest thing; they are RUBBER BANDS. Yes, it is cool that they are shaped. It is even more cool that they retain their shapes. I’ll give you that. But to obsess so much over something that has the sole purpose of being worn on one’s arm? Come on, America. Children pile them up on their arms, wearing as many as they can afford to buy or fit on each arm, and merely play show and tell with friends. They look like rubber bands when worn. And, if a kid wants to show his or her friend that they have a squirrel for example, it would take the kid a great deal of time to figure out which rubber band was in the shape of a squirrel. Even high school and college students are wearing these things. I can’t sell these things with a straight face. I try really hard not to be judgemental but it is very, very difficult. Parents are willing to spend five dollars a pack! I hope that when I have kids they will be able to realize how silly fads like this are. At least with Pokemon and Pogs children could trade and play an actual game. Some of the more rare Pokemon cards are actually worth money nowadays. I’d like to see what a Silly Band will be worth in ten years.     

I have just recently discovered CNN and the fact that it is amazing.

Whenever someone you know decides that they no longer wish to be the owner of a dog, please instruct them to take it to the nearest PetSmart rather than merely dropping it off in an apartment complex. The latter is immature and irresponsible. Thank you.
